Equalization

A filter, in the context of digital signal processing, is a function that remove specific frequencies from an input signal. A passband is the range (or "band") of frequencies that are allowed through a filter. A passband can be implemented with a combination of a low-pass filter and a high-pass filter, which are both types of band-pass filters.
